White Ribbon

Our lab’s director, Dr. Wendy Craig, and doctoral student Kyla Mayne, together with Dr. Michelle Searle and doctoral student Jennifer Thompson, are engaging with the community through a culturally responsive and equitable evaluation of the course Beyond the Screen: Understanding and Preventing Incel Radicalization of Male Youth

This evaluation team is supporting White Ribbon in their efforts to develop and deliver a new Incel Radicalization Prevention Program. The evaluation performance measures will be guided by specific indicators and priorities, including but not limited to:

  • Increased awareness of the Incel movement

  • Identifying signs of incel involvement

  • Knowledge about how to intervene effectively

  • Knowledge about preventing Incel engagement

  • Increased knowledge on importance of promoting healthy masculinities to prevent misogyny, violence, and hate

  • Increased knowledge about healthy dating relationships

  • Increased knowledge about healthy masculinities

  • Changed norms around males seeking help and debunking myths such as, only good-looking man can date, social justice and feminist efforts do not support men; toughness/coldness is a sin of manhood, asking for help is futile

  • Change in policies
