Our lab’s director, Dr. Wendy Craig, and doctoral student Kyla Mayne, together with Dr. Michelle Searle and doctoral student Jennifer Thompson, are engaging with the community through a culturally responsive and equitable evaluation of the course Beyond the Screen: Understanding and Preventing Incel Radicalization of Male Youth.

This evaluation team is supporting White Ribbon in their efforts to develop and deliver a new Incel Radicalization Prevention Program. The evaluation performance measures will be guided by specific indicators and priorities, including but not limited to:

Increased awareness of the Incel movement

Identifying signs of incel involvement

Knowledge about how to intervene effectively

Knowledge about preventing Incel engagement

Increased knowledge on importance of promoting healthy masculinities to prevent misogyny, violence, and hate

Increased knowledge about healthy dating relationships

Increased knowledge about healthy masculinities

Changed norms around males seeking help and debunking myths such as, only good-looking man can date, social justice and feminist efforts do not support men; toughness/coldness is a sin of manhood, asking for help is futile
